Friday Night

So it's late Friday night... nigh on 2am. Just time for a quick nutshell of the day.

First, I can't say how many times someone has mentioned Cam's absence
. He had to sit this trip out as he and his wife, Rene are anxiously awaiting the conclusion of their third pregnancy. So we miss them both but are praying for health and a smooth birth!

The trip up was a breeze! It took a while, but no major incidents to speak of. Kyle's a master at the helm of the 15 passenger van with an equal-sized trailer. Discussion ranged from finalizing set lists, to taking goofy pictures with Cory's spanky new MacBook, to "would you rather be a police officer or a firefighter and why." Good stuff.

We made our arrival in K'zoo right on time, got our gear set up (Adam and I took a side trip to Guitar Center... and will need to again tomorrow, darn it), sound-checked and were ready for the 10:30pm start time. Then we got word that one of the student buses was late and we weren't going to start until 11:30pm. From then on, our main consensus was that we felt old. We had just enough time to get a quick shower to breathe some life back into us. Adam, Cory, Matt and I chilled in room 501 and watched Under Siege, The King of Queens and Clueless (the movie) simultaneously... at which time Matt displayed a disturbingly acute retention rate for Alicia Silverstone lines.

11:30pm, like clockwork, we waited our turn to take the stage, busted out with Risk, Your Grace is Enough and Make a Joyful Noise. We were all highly satisfied. Crowd was into it, had some lively jumpers up front, and a nice young gentleman who bailed me out of a dry throat by handing me some water in mid-song. All in all a good night!

Back to the room and I had forgotten that I needed to create some PowerPoints for tomorrows set and start this very blog. Now I'm tired and am going to sleep. I'm going to feel even older, come the dawn. Pre-8am soundcheck.

Adam got some spiffy stickers printed up and we're going to be giving those out through the weekend.

If you're of the praying persuasion, please keep my voice in mind. I'm already a little ragged, and tend to not pull any punches when I'm in the thick of it. My endurance in truly in God's hands.

Check the Pictures page on www.band3.com for some updates (but not tonight).

Did I mention we miss Cam?

...and oh! Google "band3" and we're the second listing that comes up. How's about that? So if you can't remember www.band3.com, just Google band3. (yeah, that's a joke, folks)

Yo, guys, I miss you, too, as well as all of the SV'ers. Rene and I really wish we could be there. She's had a lot of contractions last night and today, so we are getting close. Have fun, bring the rock, and deliver the truth.
